Mariah Carey and the hard job to be a star
She's one of the best singers of the 90's. Why is she so quiet these days? Of course she is
raising her two beautiful babies. That is enough reason itself to be away from the spotlight.
But her three last albums have proved that no one is exempt from having a hard time selling
records and ticket concerts, even a big name like Mariah Carey.
She has given us amazing pop anthems like "Vision of Love", "Hero", "One Sweet Day" and "Fantasy".
That perfect five-octave range voice now sounds kind of tired. What has happened to her? Mariah's
vocal acrobatics might have hurt her another time powerful voice. Remember vocal chords can be
burned due to oversinging. In addition, Mariah Carey has delivered her weakest material in recent
projects such as "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel" and "E-MC2" and she definitely needs another
album like "Daydream" or "Music Box" to keep it up.
Will she able to do it? Anything good can happen. Maybe this new stage of her life will give her
enough inspiration to produce better albums, songs and videos. But Mariah Carey needs to understand
something very important: touring the world is as important as releasing a record. And please,
take Celine Dion's example: you need to become an amazing performer on stage in order to get
people interested to see you live!
Will she make it next time?
