Lady Gaga beats Mariah Carey
|  | | Lady Gaga | Lady Gaga is officially the Greatest Woman in Pop, according to a fierce battle hosted by VH1. Mother Monster beat out seven other women to take home the title. The competition was fierce! Little Monsters were on a mission to crown their favorite star the winner and put in a lot of time and effort campaigning for Gaga.
After three intense rounds of voting by fans, Gaga took home the prize after beating diva Mariah Carey. Surprisingly, the third and final round was the easiest for Gaga to win. Mother Monster pulled down 56 percent of the votes in the final battle.
Her first round against Madonna was a fight to the very last minute. Gaga managed to win with a 51 percent vote. The second round against Britney Spears was just as close. Once again, Little Monsters helped the "Born This Way" singer win with 51 percent of the votes. Odd, it seems like Gaga would have had no trouble beating Britney, but BritBrit clearly has more fans than anticipated.
Mariah made it to the third round after she tied Beyoncé. The final score in that battle shows a 50/50 split, but Mariah must have had a few more votes to push her into the final round. Other contenders include Katy Perry, Rihanna and Jennifer Lopez. All were voted out in the first round. Maybe next time ladies.
For now, Lady Gaga is the Greatest Woman in Pop. Everybody play nice, now. Madonna fans will not be happy to hear this little bit of news and will most likely start lashing out. Little Monsters, Gaga has won, but there is no need to start some nasty Madonna death trend to celebrate. (Gather)
