Mariah Carey "losing weight for Idol debut"
Mariah Carey is reportedly determined to lose weight before her American Idol debut. The
superstar singer is believed to have ballooned to a size 18 before giving birth to her
twins in April last year. She has since embarked on a strict eating and exercise regime
in a bid to regain her pre-baby body. Mariah is believed to be battling to lose the final
pounds but wants to look fabulous for her role as a judge on American Idol.
"Mariah's told pals she wants to be a size 8 when Idol starts. She's cut out salt, sugar,
and oils and is focusing on portion control," a source told UK magazine Closer. "She's
having veggie juice in the morning, then chicken or fish with salad for lunch and dinner."
The 42-year-old star isn't the only new addition to the American Idol judging panel.
Nicki Minaj has also joined the show and Mariah wants to make sure she isn't overshadowed
by the younger singer. "The idea of being upstaged is motivating Mariah to stick to her
diet," the source added.
