Mariah performs a unique rendition of "All I Want"
She's made "All I want For Christmas Is You" one of the most iconic festive records of all time since it stormed the charts almost two decades ago. But Mariah Carey gave her track a new twist as she performed on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, backed by the chat show host himself and hip-hop band The Roots.
Taking to the festive stage in cute Christmas clothing, the group performed a unique rendition of the hit, in which they were accompanied by a series of miniscule school instruments. Writing on her Twitter page, the 42-year-old singer wrote: "Join the fun plus sing along to my festive 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' collabo with Jimmy Fallon and The Roots!"
As The Roots bashed away on their respective tiny instruments after being warmed up by Fallon, Mariah effortlessly performed the track in all its glory, while being backed by four adorable children. With the group sat in what looked like the perfect winter wonderland as they belted out the festive classic, all had made plenty of effort when it came to their choice of Christmas outfits.
Mariah showed off her incredible curves in a form-fitting scarlet gown, while her honey blonde locks tumbled dramatically around her shoulders. Meanwhile, Fallon and the members of The Roots all donned festive jumpers that wouldn't have looked out of place in Santa's grotto. And the chat show host certainly seemed thrilled with the touching performance. He wrote on his Twitter page: "Mariah Carey plus The Roots plus classroom instruments. So fun."
But the festive video is by no means the only Christmas spirit Mariah has been enjoying of late, with the singer performing "All I Want For Christmas" at the annual tree-lighting ceremony at New York City's Rockefeller Center last week. Below the 80ft tall Norway Spruce and with Santa Claus by her side, Mariah belted out the track - and gave fans an eyeful of her ample cleavage while prancing around the stage in a low-cut red and silver dress.
The star will no doubt be looking forward to spending Christmas with her TV presenter husband Nick Cannon and their adorable 20-month-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe. And Mariah looks set to be sharing the family's experience every step of the way after tweeting an adorable snap of the tots surrounded by Hello Kitty toys earlier this week. Alongside the picture, she wrote: "Monroe's in paradise. Roc doesn't share the fascination lol."
