"American Idol" to hold preview screenings in 11 cities

American Idol is to host simultaneous preview screenings of its season premiere in 11 US cities on January 9, it has been announced. These preview screenings will include a simulcast of a Q&A session with American Idol judges Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, Randy Jackson and Keith Urban live from LA. Ryan Seacrest will also be on hand to moderate the discussion between the reality competition's new judging panel.

Fox has announced that fans can log on to Idol RSVP to request tickets to screenings in any of the 12 cities. New York City, Philadelphia, Boston, Washington DC, Atlanta and Detroit will be carrying the event across the East Coast, while Chicago, Dallas, Houston and Nashville are representing the Midwest.

Fans on the West Coast can attend a preview in Los Angeles at Royce Hall, where the live Q&A will take place. The interview portion will also be shown on Live Stream and American Idol's website.

Minaj recently touted the "chemistry" of American Idol's latest judging panel, despite her apparent feud with Carey earlier in the year. American Idol premieres its new season on Fox with two special episodes on Wednesday, January 16 at 8pm ET and Thursday, January 17 at the same time.
