Nick Cannon gives Mariah Carey health update

Mariah Carey continues to recover from a shoulder injury she suffered while on the set of her new music video earlier this month. Just days after being hospitazlied, she appeared at the MLB All-Star Charity Concert in New York looking and sounding great - and quite stylish in a fashion-forward sling.

On Monday, her husband, Nick Cannon, told CBSNews.com that Carey continues to feel better, but noted, "She still has a lot of nerve damage in her arm so she can't really move her arm all the way. So she's still in the sling. And she still has issues with her ribs and everything. But the doctors says a lot of rest and relaxation and she'll be back to normal in no time."

Cannon said Carey, 43, is still working on her new album, too, noting: "That's her main focus right now." Nick Cannon Cannon, meanwhile, faced his own share of health problems in the past year, battling kidney issues as a result of an autoimmune disease called lupus nephritis. Now more than a year later, Cannon, 32, says he's feeling great, adding, "Last year was definitely a tough year health-wise but now doctors have giving me a clean bill of health. Eating well and exercising has kind of put me in the best shape I've ever been in."

Cannon was in New York on Monday leading up to the "America's Got Talent" live finales and as part of Snapple's re-enFACTments campaign. He's helping to unveil the Statue of Liberty's size 879 sandal, one of the beverage company's real facts.

Check back later this week for a second feature with Cannon about the current season of "America's Got Talent", the Lady Liberty sandal and his plans to bring "Soul Train" back to television.
