A look back at Mariah Carey's album E=MC2

Happy anniversary to E=MC2. Six years ago on this day, the diva known as MiMi, Mariah Carey, released her eleventh album E=MC2. The album was released on Island Def Jam Records and she released the hit single, "Touch My Body". The album was produced by Jermaine Dupri, Bryan Michael Cox, Swizz Beatz, and many others. It featured appearances by singers T-Pain & Damien Marley and rapper Young Jeezy.

The album is named after the famous formula of Albert Einstien for mass energy equivalence. The album was well received by music critics, with many complimenting the record's broad genre influences, and musical and production styles. The singer became a wife for the second time as she married Nick Cannon. The singer was able to show more of a personal side of Ms. Carey.

Since the album, she has starred in two movies, Precious and Lee Daniels' The Butler and became a mother for the first time to twins Monroe and Morocco. She is still going strong with husband Nick Cannon and prepping for her fourteenth album, The Art Of Letting Go with the hit single, "You're Mine (Eternal)" featuring Trey Songz.
