Mariah Carey's cheap buy
Mariah Carey may be a millionaire but the things she buys aren't always expensive. A while back, the singer wandered into Andrea Renee's NYC Jewelry outlet in SoHo, where she picked up a necklace called "Starburst" designed by Renee and Vincent Dante Polino. The antique piece features a silver-plated 16-inch delicate cable chain, which is accented by a hand wrapped 6mm Austrian crystal "Starburst" pendant that measures a 1/2 in diameter. Carey's choice of color was navy blue, although it's also available in garnet, black, gray, and clear crystal.
Carey's total receipt: $38.00. The singer was so thrilled with her find that she gave the designers autographed photos before she and her entourage left. Not bad for an artist who topped Forbes magazine's highest-paid celebrities. Many thanks to Mariah Land.
