Mariah for Warner Bros?
Music experts are predicting Mariah Carey will opt for a contract with Warner Brothers - because it's the only major company untouched by the Sony or EMI music giants. The sultry singer was released from her contract with EMI's Virgin label yesterday with a multi-million pay-off and was in talks with Whitney Houston's label BMG's Arista, but nothing came of the meeting.
One Arista employee says, "The only company left is Warner music. She won't go back to any of the labels in the Sony stable because of her ex-husband Tommy Mottola. EMI just let her go and right now she sure isn't going to BMG. Mariah's still got the pipes and with the right people working with her, still can make a lot of money." (WENN)
