Mariah Carey fans await "Infinity" video
Mariah Carey fans are dedicated to their leader and have no patience in waiting for Ms. Carey to debut her new video for "Infinity", a song that debuted at No. 82 and then dropped off the charts. On May 18, Carey debuted a teaser for the video. The Daily Mail describes Mariah's latest video.
"In her new music video for Infinity (where she sings about her long-term love losing the best he ever had) Empire actor Jussie Smollett appears to be dressed as the spitting image of her estranged husband Nick Cannon, who she promptly slams the door on."
Perhaps the delay is due to the incredibly low debut of Mariah Carey's new greatest hits album #1 To Infinity, which shocked the music industry by only debuting at No. 29. While many people have noted that the album isn't a new studio effort and contains songs that have, in large, appeared on other of Mariah's greatest hits albums, a No. 29 debut is still shocking. Most expected Mariah's new album to debut in the top ten.
Meanwhile, Mariah Carey recently reflected on her experience as a judge on American Idol, a gig that many said is responsible for hurting her career. CNN quotes Mariah Carey talking about what she calls the worst experience of her life.
"I'm not going to get into what it was, but let's just say I don't think they had any intentions for us to have a good experience doing that show. Pitting two females against each other wasn't cool."
Mariah goes on to say she believes that it should have all been about the contestants instead of some imaginary feud. She says that even though she would never want to be involved with it again, she realizes that other stars liked the experience.
Meanwhile, Digital Spy reports that Mariah Carey is set to re-release her 1994 Christmas album, which has already been re-released in one form or another many different times before. It contains Carey's signature Christmas hit "All I Want For Christmas Is You". Around the same time, Mariah will perform more Christmas shows at the Beacon Theater, which is good news for fans since they really enjoyed last year's well-reviewed shows. (The Inquisitr)
