Mariah returns to her roots

Mariah Carey isn't taking any chances when she releases her new single "Through The Rain" in November. The song is a ballad along the lines of her breakthrough "Vision Of Love". Producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, who wrote the song, have focused Mariah back on the sound of her most successful era after the disastrous Glitter album two years ago.
According to Jimmy Jam "Through The Rain is a star search ballad about making it through a storm", something Mariah can easily equate to her life in recent years. Jam and Lewis have produced 5 songs on the upcoming album including an uptempo dance number titled "Yours". Jimmy Jam says "Yours is supermelodic love song that you can bounce to or groove to."
Mariah recorded 20 songs for the album in very comfortable surroundings on the Isle of Capri in the Mediterranean off the coast of Italy. The album will be released in December on her own label MonarC Music.

I don't know what the fuss is about. if you love Mariah, this is the time you should be garning for her most as it is the memento she needs us most. I think the Elusive was written whilst she was going through a difficult time, It's A Wrap with Mary J says it all. I think she told Mary J about Nick. I love it.

I am upset that her team released this video on Facebook of her doing whistle notes. No one doubted that MC could still do whistle notes. In fact, that's the one note I am pretty sure she can hit live, even if the rest of the performance is a backing track and she's lip syncing. Early in her career, MC said she didn't want the whistle register to b... read more

MC should sing new songs in concerts, ot old songs (47,510) by jaker20 from US

New songs as in (1) songs on her current album, (2) songs that she can actually sing. She can't sing songs from the 90s anymore. It's a different time, different vocal abilities. I would rather hear her sing songs she can sing, than lip old "hits". During the concerts, people seem to dig her new songs too. And the reason is because they know it's l... read more
