This week in Billboard chart history: 20 years ago

How did Mariah Carey follow up the longest-leading hit in Billboard Hot 100 history? With another No. 1! After "One Sweet Day", with Boyz II Men, held the top spot for 16 weeks in 1995-96, "Always Be My Baby" ascended to the summit for a two-week command. The song became the 11th of her 18 No. 1s, the most among soloists.

Adding to the enduring appeal of "Baby", Fifth Harmony sampled it on "Like Mariah", which hit No. 5 on Billboard + Twitter Top tracks in 2015. In fact, Mariah liked "Like Mariah", declaring on Twitter, "Now playing Like Mariah by Fifth Harmony. I love it. I appreciate and enjoy you."

What a beautiful photo of Mariah, so effortless and simple yet striking in every way. We salute you Mariah and what people don't realise is that she was a trend-setter and what everybody is busting out now Mariah did it twenty years ago. Please see her back in the days before any criticisms for example leather trousers to crop tops to gosh skinny jeans to form fitting dresses and flawless make-up and hair and yet she never brags about that.
