Mariah Carey's sister Alison begs for a reconciliation

She seemingly has a picture-perfect life. But, despite this, Mariah Carey is said to be bitterly estranged from her elder sister, Alison - who's now begging the singer for a reconciliation. According to Now magazine, the 46 year-old hit-maker - worth an estimated £420 million - has been offered an olive branch by her 55 year-old sibling, but the pair remain distanced.

Specifically, it's claimed Alison's issues with prostitution, addiction and poor health have meant the pair live dramatically contrasting lives, even today. In a video posted online last year, the mother-of-five could he seen asking Mariah: "I love you, please don't abandon me", but the plea seems to have fallen on deaf ears.

In an interview with the weekly glossy, Alison - who's previously been arrested and charged with prostitution - said: "I've done things that were wrong, she's done things that were wrong. I've reached out to her many, many times throughout the years in every way I could think of to ask for forgiveness and see if we could start over. We're the only sisters each of us will ever have".

Alison's latest effort comes more than twenty years after the rift first started - and days after Mariah was reportedly paid millions to perform at a wedding reception. Although it's not clear what the catalyst for their fall-out was, Mariah's people have previously stated that she's provided financial and moral assistance on more than one occasion.

"Mariah can be there with love and support - but at what point do you not enable somebody any longer?" they're quoted as saying. "She's looking for Alison to want to help herself." They also said: "Through the years Mariah has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars supporting Alison and her children."

Yet, regardless of this, the troubling sister is still reaching out once more. "I just wish Mariah would let me be her sister again and a proper aunt to her children," she told Now. "I know we've had so many problems over the years, but I want to reach to her in the hope we can make peace and heal the wounds that have torn our family apart."

The Mirror have contacted representatives for Mariah Carey, but are yet to receive a response.

Well bless her heart. This is a never ending story. I do wish they could find some peace and move on with their lives. I doubt A. could be a "proper" aunt to Mariah's often traveling children. I wonder if M. will reflect on her family on MW?

To answer RibbonB: MC did address her family issues right at the beginning of episode 5 of MW, saying how she wished she had the ideal family. And she precisely mentioned that she was not talking about her mom, Shawn or Mikey.
