These songs might just save your life

Beyonce, Justin Timberlake and ABBA are not just pop stars, they may be life-savers too. New York Presbyterian Hospital has shared a new Spotify playlist intended to help train first responders in hands-only CPR. The 40-song set also includes the Bee Gees' "Stayin' Alive", Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive" and Missy Elliott's "Work It", among other theme-appropriate tracks - all of which are 100 beats-per-minute, "the right beat to perform CPR", according to the playlist description.

Somewhat ironically, there are a number of worst-case-scenario songs on the list as well, such as Queen's "Another One Bites the Dust", Norman Greenbaum's "Spirit in the Sky" and Mariah Carey's "Heartbreaker" featuring Jay Z. "Pick one to remember in case you ever need to save a life," the description states.

The method is proven, too. Last October, a subway worker in New York survived an electrocution on the third rail thanks to a co-worker performing CPR to the beat of the Bee Gees' "Stayin' Alive".
