Nick Cannon's brother tells truth behind rumors

Mariah Carey's former brother-in-law has come to her defense amid claims that she is "crazy". Carey previously announced that she has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder. "Mariah is not crazy," said Reuben Cannon, the brother of Carey's ex-husband, entertainer Nick Cannon, Tuesday, April 17. "I've known Mariah for so long, and she is the mother of my niece and nephew. She is a great mother and she is a great person."

Cannon and Carey split back in 2014 but are parents to six-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe. Despite their high-profile breakup, they seem to have stayed close as they co-parent their children. It looks like Carey is also still on good terms with Reuben, who commended her for helping him with his aspirations. "Mariah helped me get my start and she was one of the first people to give me a chance when no else would," added Reuben. "And it is not because she was married to my brother."

Reuben's statement comes just after Carey's former manager, Stella Bulochnikov claimed that Carey sexually harassed her and noted that the iconic singer often walked around naked. Reuben responded to the reported complaint and said that the infamous manager just wants to "take advantage" of Carey's seemingly moment of weakness after coming forward about her condition. Carey's representative said they plan to respond with legal action of their own if Bulochnikov actually moves forward with the lawsuit.

Reuben's defense for Carey also comes after news spread that the singer was hospitalized in 2016 after saying she was convinced the late singers Whitney Houston, Prince, and Michael Jackson were coming to her home for dinner. Word is Cannon called Carey's now ex-manager and said her nanny discovered Carey "wearing a ball gown and a tiara" paired with a Ring-Pop that Carey said the royal family gifted her with. She was said to be getting ready her and Cannon's twins for the dinner.

One insider said that this was one of many moments in Carey's mental breakdown. She reportedly had more after she broke off her engagement with billionaire oil tycoon James Packer. Interestingly enough, it was recently reported that Packer had mental issues of his own. Carey was also said to be in a "terrible manic state" after she was said to have partied all summer long with her new boyfriend and backup dancer, Bryan Tanaka.
