Mariah lands in Dublin and is thrilled to spot rainbow

Singer Mariah Carey has landed in Dublin ahead of her concert in the capital on Wednesday. Posting a short video of herself, the songwriter, who'll kick off the European leg of her Caution world tour at the 3Arena on Wednesday, said: "Look, look, look, look, come on. We're here in Ireland, looking at rainbows."

The Grammy-winning singer tweeted: "Hello Ireland! Thank you for this gorgeous welcome. Can't wait for opening night of the Caution world tour in Europe on Wednesday right here in Dublin."

This week's gig will be the first time Mariah, whose mother - Patricia (nee Hickey) is reportedly of Irish descent - will have brought a tour to Ireland. The 49-year-old star recently revealed she's a massive Game of Thrones fan when she posted a snap of herself on the Iron Throne.

Wearing fishnets and a red bodysuit in the picture, she leaned into a sassy pose as her Queen's veil gathered around her feet. The star's Twitter followers replied in their droves and one hailed her: "The true queen of Westeros." Another raved: "Yessss! Queen Mariah, mother of lambs, ruler of all."

Earlier this month, the singer cut her cover of The Jackson 5 hit I'll Be There from her set list - after 27 years of performing it. This following fresh allegations being made against the late Michael Jackson in the recent Leaving Neverland documentary. It had been a firm favourite during her gigs but she decided to axe it from her Caution world tour, two weeks after the Channel 4 documentary aired.

There are some remaining tickets available for Wednesday night's concert on ticketmaster.ie while doors open at 6.30pm.
