Mariah Carey celebrates Red Nose Day

Today (May 23) is Red Nose Day in the United States and some of your favorite celebrities are commemorating in the best way. Tia Mowry and Mariah Carey have been two of many celebrity parents to rock red noses in honor of the cause.

Red Nose Day began in 1988 as an effort to raise awareness about child poverty. The goal of the one-day campaign was to garner financial support from fans of BBC's Comic Relief for the cause of ending poverty in the world. To date, the campaign has garnered more than $150 million in funds.

The star power behind Red Nose Day has certainly helped the cause in the United States. Several of Mariah Carey's fans praised the singer for supporting such a worthy effort all while acknowledging that they, too, were rocking red noses on Thursday (May 23). "I have mine on," one fan said. "Love this," another social media follower said.
