Mariah Carey feeling the Instagram outage

Mariah Carey was feeling the heat when Instagram went down yesterday - it's almost as if she's just like the rest of us. Of course we know that simply isn't the case and she's a superhuman being that probably has her own phone line directly to Instagram and Mark Zuckerberg, but for one night she pretended she was a mere mortal.

While we all lost ourselves and went batty at the thought of not being allowed to stalk our exes, exes ex for the third night in a row, Mariah was right there next to us. Taking to Twitter in her hour of desperation, the Honey hitmaker shared a gif of her waiting. The gif was of herself, which really drums home the fact she is not one of us and we will never be like her.

"Waiting for Instagram to work again," she wrote, while in the short clip she was holding her phone and taking a sip of red wine. Of course fans took her sassy quip and absolutely ran with it as they commented below her post. One really took things to another level as they effectively cancel-cultured the downed app: "Instagram is cancelled for making the Queen wait. The audacity. Twitter is better anyway."

Another spoke for the rest of us, as they added: "Can't believe Insta just disappointed queen Mariah." We're sure the singer has got an apology bouquet coming her way. Luckily for her, the platform was back and running and she could get back to scrolling once more.

While many just had a bunch of images not loading, some unlucky punters weren't able to access their accounts at all, with the app going down around 2pm UK time. Bummer. It appeared to be mostly affecting the UK, northern Europe, the east coast of the US and parts of South America, which made it a global thing.

There's been no official reason given for the outage as of yet but as you would expect, the rage was real as people took to their alternative Twitter to vent about the whole palaver.
