Mariah to the movies

After having sold more than unbelieveable 90 million albums worldwide, and 14 #1 singles on the US charts, the popdiva now sets her eyes on making a movie career. Mariah wants to do what Madonna, Whitney Houston and Cher have done before her, getting a movie career next to the music! In February starts the filming of "All That Glitters", which script the 29-year old has co-written herself. The movie will premiere next Christmas, according to Aftonbladet.

A FREE PERSON

"I want to do a lot of movies, 'cause I love to act! It's helped me become a more free person", the popstar tells the Swedish newspaper. The story in the movie is filmed in the '80's. Mariah Carey plays a young, poor girl who grows up without her parents. She starts a girl-band, meets a DJ, makes a career, breaks up with the DJ, and meets the darker side of fame. With other words, a very similar story to Carey's own career and her relationship to Sony-boss, Tommy Mottola.

NOT AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL

She denies that the movie is about her. "No, it's not autobiographical," she points out to Aftonbladet. At the moment she's very busy promoting her new album, "Rainbow." But after New Year's Carey's going to dedicate all of her time to filming.
