Mariah lands mob comedy
Speaking at the Cannes Film Festival, Mariah Carey has announced that she has landed a
role in a new Mafia comedy. Billed as "Sopranoesque", and titled Wisegirls, the film is
about two waitresses working in a seemingly respectable Italian restaurant who discover
that it is a front for Mob activities. This will be Carey's second movie role. Her first
was in the partly autobiographical All That Glitters which was warmly received by critics.
In Wisegirls, Carey will appear alongside Oscar-winner Mira Sorvino and newcomer Melora
Walters. Filming is expected to begin shortly.
