MJ Cole remixes Mariah Carey


MJ Cole has remixed Mariah Carey’s forthcoming single "Loverboy" at Los Angeles’s famous Record Plant, after being flown over to the States to perform the re-rub. Cole was flown to LA to remix the track in Carey’s studio so that the single, which gets a UK release on July 20, would not get leaked to any outside parties.
Speaking to Irish music website mcd.ie, MJ Cole said: "The reason they got me over there was because they didn’t want to send the track over here. I couldn’t even have a cassette in the studio I was working in to listen to. I had to go into the studio where Mariah was working, listen to it with her twice, and that was it!"
In other MJ Cole news, the UK garage producer has been working with "saveloy king" Tom Jones on the Welshman’s forthcoming project. "I’ve written him a song and I’ve written some music for another one," Cole told mcd.ie. "I’m going to be meeting him and working with him in about two weeks time in a studio, I’m half Welsh so we should get on!"
MJ Cole plays live at The Savoy in Cork on June 2, and at Galway’s Black Box on June 3. Tickets for both shows cost £10.
