Mariah checks out
Singer Mariah Carey is "feeling better" and has left the Connecticut clinic where she was being
treated for a physical and emotional breakdown, according to her publicist. "She's under a
doctor's care at an undisclosed location with her mother," Carey's rep Cindy Berger told the
Daily News.
The chart-topping singer checked herself into a clinic two weeks ago after posting messages
on her Web site describing herself as overworked and in need of a break. Tabloid reports said
the singer entered the facility with cuts on her body, with speculation that she was suicidal.
Berger denied such reports, explaining Carey had injured herself by dropping some dishes and
glasses.
The star has cancelled all public appearances disrupting promotions for her debut film Glitter
and the companion CD which comes out Aug. 21. The movie release has been pushed back by about
a month, and will follow on Sept. 21.
