Mariah Carey pays for confused fans to stay in hotel
Mariah Carey has paid for a hotel for four Spanish fans who travelled to New York, thinking they could stay with her. The confusion occurred when Mariah showed MTV her spare room for "fans", meaning it is dedicated to fan mail. But the Spanish fans, who speak little English, thought the room was for fans to stay.
Mariah posed for photos with the foursome before paying for rooms for them at the TriBeCa hotel. Her agent told the Sun: "The kids just about managed to explain that they saw the guest room on MTV and came to stay. They follow her everywhere.
