Pop Idol judge savages J-Lo
Jennifer Lopez's skills as a singing superstar have been attacked by the British
man behind the Pop Idol TV show. Tough-talking Simon Cowell, who is currently serving
as one of three judges for hit TV show American Idols - a series aimed at finding
the next big superstar in the entertainment world - insists that J-Lo is a lacklustre
performer who would never get a recording contract from him.
He says, "Jennifer Lopez is not my cup of tea. I think she's good, not great, and
certainly not on the level of Whitney Houston or Mariah Carey. She's definitely not a star".
Brutally honest Cowell, 42, and his co-judges, '80s pop star Paula Abdul and Grammy-winning
producer Randy Jackson, give wannabe stars the opportunity to strut their stuff for the
chance to hit the big time if they prove victorious.
