Mariah's multiracial heritage isn't something she talks about much - Mariah's mother is
white and her father is black and Venezualen. Oprah talks with Mariah about her life and
growing up biracial. And Pat Carey, Mariah's mother, and other guests share their experiences.
Even with an older brother and sister who experienced the same pain and torment of growing
up biracial, Mariah says she felt like no one could relate to her. Mariah says that out of
all her accomplishments, her most important influence has been as a role model to biracial
children and teens. Through her music she has been a source of encouragement and strength
to those lost in between two worlds.
Eight-year-old Haley says that being biracial is difficult because she feels like she's not
black enough and not white enough. Haley's mom Suzanne wasn't sure how to talk to Haley about
her feeling of being bi-racial, so she asked her to write her feelings down. Haley came up
with an incredible poem.

Yay proud to report Shazam is doing some Mariah promo. While waiting to watch Ted 2 at the moment, Mariah has already appeared twice during the commercials. They're like 10 second spot promos playing the Infinity video brought to you by Shazam and Caesars. Ok they just played her again, haha. (Sunday 5 July 2015; 19:33)
