Mariah's movie dreams dampened

Singer Mariah Carey's hope of a movie hit is becoming increasingly unlikely - her latest movie Wise Girls has been sold straight to cable television. The curvaceous star, who's big screen debut Glitter flopped at the box office last year, was hopeful the mobster comedy Wisegirls - co-starring Mira Sorvino, would prove her acting ability. Despite a quite positive response at the Sundance Film Festival in January, the producer failed to find a distributor and was forced to sell it to cable.
