Whitney and Mariah fighting back

The world's two greatest singers are both set to release huge comeback albums this year - and both after a year of tumultuous personal problems. Mariah Carey will release her first album on new label, Universal Music after a year of disappointing sales, box office failure and a well-publicised breakdown. Whitney Houston too has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons. Marijuana possession charges, marriage woes, and reports of anorexia and bulimia. However by the end of the year they are both set to be back on top of the charts.

Whitney's new single is titled "Whatcha Lookin' At" and is directed towards the media. She explains, "This song has attitude. It's just my way of telling some people to mind their business and leave some of us alone. You know, people like Mariah Carey and I have had to accept some harsh remarks that are untrue and, uh, you know, they hurt. Lord knows this is my year. I'm telling you something here. I'm back on top and I'm making the rules this time. I ain't gonna be pushed around anymore. Mariah and I invented this and we're both not condescending to those counterfeits. Haha! You know who I'm talking about."

Mariah's new single is not expected for a few months, however rumours about the highly anticipated album suggest collaborations with everyone from Ashanti to Daniel Beddingfield.
