Mariah happy to be single
Mariah Carey is happy to be single and put men on the sideline while she puts her career back on track. The singer - who recently signed a new A$40 million record deal with Def Jam - suffered an emotional breakdown last year and the ignominy of watching her movie debut Glitter flop at the box office. But she is determined to prove she's back to her best after a disastrous 2001.
Mariah says, "I don't need a man. I'm really happy for the first time in a long time." Carey has not been romantically linked to anyone since her split with controversial rapper Eminem last year. A friend says, "Her relationships got too complicated. She's trying to keep her life simple and positive now. She was too driven in her career and things started falling apart. Now she knows you have to be happy with yourself before anything else in life. It's about priorities, and she's ok with putting love on hold for the sake of her emotional welfare.
