Carey disses "Glitter"

Glamorous diva Mariah Carey has slammed Glitter - the film and album that is widely recognised to have knocked back her career. The big-voiced singer was paid off by record company EMI after the album and movie - which also starred Brit actor Max Beesley - flopped in 2001. She says, "Basically, that experience sucked. It was very confining when you're working in the big Hollywood system if you're not calling the shots."

The project also suffered from being released in the week prior to the terrorist attacks on America. Carey adds, "It was geared at 11 year olds and in the week of September 11th, no-one was leaving their house."
