Mariah interview

Superstar Mariah Carey takes time out to talk to us about her world tour "Charmbracelet" and her two UK tour dates.

Hi Mariah how you doing? Now tell me all about your world tour, your Charmbracelet World Tour. You must be very, very excited?

I'm very, very excited. I'm really, really looking forward to getting out there and touring and getting out there being with the fans. The whole vibe is going to be more intimate. I think the fans are going to feel really up close and personal with me and it takes a lot of discipline because I have to rest between shows, but it's cool.

Now tell us about the two UK dates.

NEC Arena Birmingham and Wembley London (October 28 and 29).

Tell us what it's like playing at Wembley, have you been there before?

Yes I have and I loved it - it's fun. I remember I kicked a soccer ball there! Football you guys call it.

This is your first tour in three yeas you've taken a long break from this kind of thing. You're obviously fit and healthy to go back into it. How's all that been going?

Everything's great everything's been fine. It's funny when people keep asking me how are you, how are you doing, are you feeling well and blah blah, it's interesting to me - the press really like to hang on to an old story don't they?

But I saw you recently a couple of months ago you're obviously on top form. What sort of things have you got in store for the fans at the gigs?

Oh thank you, well I've been trying to stay in shape doing these water aerobics which is kind of my new take on working out because it doesn't feel like it - if you have to torture yourself you might as well do it in the ocean! But in terms of the surprises for the fans, I'm still working that out myself but I like to incorporate the different cultures of where I'm going. I like to bring fans on stage. This is going to be a lot more theatrical than my standard tour because I've had the chance to work with the people, the lighting people and had chance to be a lot more hands on.
