A fourth of July soft ball game between teams led by Russell Simmons and P. Diddy was rained out Monday - which gave Simmons a fine excuse to go sneaker shopping in East Hampton. The hip-hop honcho took Kid Rock, Reverend Run of Run DMC, and Serena Williams and her boyfriend Brett Ratner to Blue and Cream where "Rush Hour" movie director Ratner bought Williams (size 8) a pair of trendy white crocodile Nike HTM kicks, which retail at a cool $400.
The sneakers are so hot, songbird Mariah Carey also phoned the shop recently to secure two pairs for her pal, birthday boy Randy Jackson (size 13). Another sneaker that could be on Blue and Cream shelves one day: a trainer designed by Paris Hilton. Simmons, on the suggestion of his brother Reverend Run, is racing to sign the heiress to design a sneaker for Phat Farm. "We don't want her name. We want her good taste," Simmons told Diary.
