Olympic closing ceremony

Several performers, including American superstar Mariah Carey, had been linked to possible appearances in the opening ceremony, but aside from a special written composition by Icelandic singer/songwriter Bjork no star appearances materialised.
However, given the traditional party atmosphere of the closing ceremony, it is thought more likely that big names may appear. Four years ago the closing ceremony at the Sydney Games saw Kylie Minogue cement her comeback on the international scene with a well regarded performance of ABBA's disco classic Dancing Queen.
