Fan community against piracy

Mariah Carey's new single "Say Something" has been leaked. However, Mariah's loyal fan community has been already a protection for the song. On November 20th, the file was spread on the Internet through fan sites, message boards, e-mails, and now in file-sharing software such as WinMx.

However, "Say Something" was stopped by Mariah's fans worldwide. Some of Mariah Carey's most popular fan sites have decided not to distribute the song. For example, The Mariah Carey Archives posted an article were it is said that people must stop the illegal distribution of "Say Something" in fan sites and message boards. Also, another popular site, Mariah Daily, has decided also not to post any link to download "Say Something".

Mariah Connection also expressed their decision about Mariah's new single. "We do not support piracy on this site and we hope all other webmasters and moderators of fan boards follow us by deleting any links to downloads." Mariah Hero.com has also decided to respect Mariah's decision for an official release date. Fans also should know that there might be still a chance that this song is not the final version of "Say Something".

Perhaps the whole issue could be something positive for Mariah Carey. Now, we could say half of Mariah's fans who have listened to the song, love it, and the rest of the fans completely dislike it. Mariah and her team should know by now, if the song is really what she needs for her comeback. "Say Something" is a different song to any previous work, and that's a huge factor for fans to take into consideration. There is a final advise for the people who have the song in their computers. Change the name of the file, if you have a file-sharing software installed in your computer.
