Mariah Carey's new album

Mariah Carey is releasing her latest album on April 11th in an attempt to make a comeback in the R&B music scene. Mariah is back with the nickname "Mimi" and a new album titled "The Emancipation of Mimi".

Mariah was a succesful pop artist that during the late 90's made a turn to R&B. During 2003 Mariah had a massive hit participating on the Busta Rhymes track "I Know What You Want" that reached #1 on the charts. Another appearence on the track "U Make Me Wanna" from rapper Jadakiss released during late 2004 gave the signal for Carey's reemergence.

The lead single from Mariah's new album, a song titled "It's Like That" is produced by famous beat maker (and Janet Jackson's other half) Jermaine Dupri. On its first week of release to radio, the track appeared on the Billboard Hot 100 as the Hot Shot Debut and also earned hot airplay across US radio charts.

The video clip for the song is being shot next week in Las Vegas by director Brett Ratner. The remixes for the song were produced by David Morales who previously worked with Mariah on various remixes and are expected by the end of February.

Meanwhile, Antonio "L.A." Reid will present Mariah's new album in London at a listening session the day following the Brit awards ceremony. On Mariah's new album we will find collaborations with Snoop Dogg and Twista, as well as songs produced by Neptunes member Pharrell Williams.
