Mariah returns to #1, Mimi at #2

"We Belong Together" returns to #1 for a fifth non-consecutive week. This makes "Together" Mariah's fourth longest running #1 in her career. It trails the record-breaking "One Sweet Day" (16 weeks), "Dreamlover" (8 weeks), and "Fantasy" (8 weeks). In addition the song is at #1 on Hot 100 Airplay, Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks, Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay, Pop 100 Airplay, Top 40 Mainstream, and Top 40 Rhythmic. A #1 on Pop 100 still eludes her as this week Bo Bice follows Carrie Underwood's lead with a #1 debut on that chart. But on the Hot 100 it is Mariah keeping Bo at bay preventing him from repeating Carrie's feat of a #1 debut.

And once again "We Belong Together" has a record-setting week at radio pushing the BDS record to 212.2 million impressions. Believe it or not there is still some room to grow as the song is still climbing Adult Contemporary (#19) and Adult Top 40 (#27). Sales on the other hand are showing a decline as the song moves down one notch to #3 on the Hot Digital Songs chart. Even if sales continue to decline there doesn't seem to be anyone that is capable of challenging Mariah at the moment.

The Emancipation Of Mimi climbs back up to #2 right behind Coldplay's X&Y which enjoys its third week at #1. On the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart it drops to #3, its lowest position on that chart thus far.
