Pace gathers for UK single release

Mariah's sultry and emotive single "We Belong Together" has accumulated no less than four record-breaking accolades since its release in America. As her 16th Billboard Hot 100 #1 single, the song propelled Mariah to the unrivalled status of the most successful female artist in history. Furthermore, this feat establishes Mariah as the only contemporary artist with the potential to surpass the achievements of The Beatles or Elvis Presley.

After attracting no less than 20.2 million listeners last week, Mariah simultaneously became the first artist in history to smash the weekly BDS Hot 100 200 million audience barrier. In doing so, Mariah crushed her own audience record of 192.3 million set just two weeks earlier.

Radio delivered yet another accolade for the song, in that it also garnered the largest audience figure for a single day on 21 June with an outstanding 32.8 million listeners. Mariah's success continues online, with the single becoming the first song to pass the 1 million BDS spins in a single week at Yahoo's LaunchCAST online radio. In addition, the song also remains at #1 on Yahoo's Music Video Plays Chart and its LaunchCAST Plays Chart.

"We Belong Together", featuring production by Jermaine Dupri, is the sophomore single taken from the RIAA certified double-platinum album "The Emancipation of Mimi", which has held the #1 spot on two separate occasions whilst remaining in the coveted Top 5 for no less than twelve weeks.

The infectious and mellifluous ballad is rapidly impacting upon UK media, in advance of the single's release on Monday 04 July 2005. The single release includes the sought-after DJ Clue remix featuring D-Block's very own Jadakiss and Styles P, which reunites both artists with Mariah for the first time since 1997's "Honey" remix. The single is now available for purchase online.

Last week the song jumped six places to the #11 position on the official UK Radio Airplay Chart, bounced five places to the #2 position on the official UK TV Airplay Chart and leapt ten places to the #5 position on the FutureChart UK Singles chart. This week Capital Radio London awarded the song with their Record of the Week accolade.

The ubiquitous media exposure for the track has stimulated increased album sales for each of the last seven weeks. "The Emancipation of Mimi" vaults 12 places to the #9 spot this week to log its first appearance in the Top 10 since its #7 debut in April. This week has also seen sales of 21,169 - its best yet, eclipsing its first week tally of 20,876 - which amounts to a 2x gold-certified 134,725 units to date.

Mariah will be guesting on Richard & Judy on Monday 04 July 2005 (Channel 4 at 4:30 PM), and TRL on Monday 04 July 2005 (MTV at 6:00 PM).
