Mariah and Robbie congratulate Quo

Mariah Carey and Robbie Williams are among the stars who have paid tribute to British rockers Status Quo on their 40th anniversary. The long-haired duo, comprising of Rick Parfitt and Francis Rossi, are celebrating 40 years of hits together this week.

Carey enthuses, "Forty years in rock 'n' roll is an incredible achievement. It shows that great music lives on." Williams says, "Quo have done Tops Of The Pops (British music TV show) over 100 times and I'm going to try and catch them up."

Veteran crooner Tony Christie adds, "For Quo to be able to warm up the Wembley Arena crowd at Live Aid was some achievement." While Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason says, "They are like your favourite chip shop - you don't want them to change the recipe."
