Honey B Fly, is it fair?

This week, Mariah Carey's official website announced the dates for her summer tour "The Adventures of Mimi". It also informed how to purchase concerts tickets. The practices used by Island Def Jam are upsetting some followers of Mariah.

In 2003, Mariah Carey's Fan club members could buy tickets two hours before these were on sale. Now, the VIP Treatment is received by those members who joined before May 18th. After this presale is over, the members who subscribed after May 19th get their chance to buy tickets. Some claim this is an unfair treatment, and that it should be equal for everyone: "I didn't renew my Honey B Fly subscription because I felt I was wasting my money. The website had nothing worthwhile," an anonymous fan said.

Moreover, the official Mariah Carey fan club is more expensive now, costing between 23 and 43 American dollars. This issue is also disappointing fans who say they decided not to join or renew because the website wasn't offering appealing features: "Honey B Fly wasn't even updated. It never offered anything except presale tickets."

Mariah's previous tour was affordable, costing from 40 to 80 dollars. An average fan would have to pay around $130 dollars to attend one of the "Mimi" concerts through Honey B Fly. However, Mariah has always tried to have affordable prices; "Because I have fans of all different ages and different money ranges, and they can't afford to go out and spend that kind of money. Not everybody has a budget to go out and go really high-end," Mariah explained.
