Mariah Carey opened up to Oprah to promote "E=MC2"

Singer Mariah Carey allowed cameras from The Oprah Winfrey Show into her personal clothes closet to reveal her obsession with collecting lingerie. The Grammy winner also shared some of the workout and diet secrets that helped her slim down in time to promote her brand-new CD, E=MC2, which is released today (April 15th). The title means "The Emancipation of Mariah Carey to the Second Power".

The new CD is the follow-up to her multi-platinum 2005 set The Emancipation Of Mimi. Carey recently earned her 18th Number One pop single when her leadoff track "Touch My Body" went to the top spot, surpassing the number of top singles charted by Elvis Presley.

The singer performed her composition "Bye Bye" on the Winfrey show. The new single was written by Carey with Johnta Austin to commemorate the loss of her father. The tune is also for those who have lost someone close to them.

Carey spoke about the song with MTV.com, saying, "Sometimes I hear it and feel that this is going to touch a lot of people, and that's why it's important that no matter what's ever happened to me over my career, that I stay the course and continue to write and try and reach people who need."
