Timberlake, Carey and Keys outstanding, says legend
Soul legend Smokey Robinson has labelled Justin Timberlake, Mariah Carey and Alicia Keys as the outstanding musical talents of the present generation. Robinson insists that there are many outstanding modern day artistes whose music will last the test of time, Contactmusic reported.
"There are some wonderful talents out there and their music will live on. There's a bunch of them, I can name Alicia Keys, Justin Timberlake, Mariah Carey, there's a bunch of them. I know there's some good music being made by great young artists."
However, Smokey expressed his concern over negative attention being focussed on music. "People look at music nowadays and there is far less censorship than there used to be so people tend to draw their attention to the negatives," Robinson was quoted telling to Bang Showbiz.
"This is not only true in music but it all of our lives - the news is always so negative, we are drawn towards the negative, so the negative music is out in the forefront of people's minds," he said. (Press Trust of India)
