Mariah Carey in suicide bid
Mariah Carey tried to kill herself because she was heartbroken by the end of her three-year relationship with Luis Miguel, according to a report in the Sun newspaper. The singer was rushed to hospital last week, suffering from "extreme exhaustion". However, the true reason for her hospitalisation is now said to be that she attempted to slit her wrists.
Carey was admitted last Wednesday night. An unnamed source is reported as saying: "Mariah was gutted when her relationship with Luis broke down. She didn't realise how hard it had hit her until it was too late."
Carey has cancelled a number of public appeqarances, despite having a film and album to promote. Concerns over the star's wellbeing were first raised after an incoherent appearance on a chat show. Her management also removed rambling messages she posted on her website. One message included the lines: "I just can't trust anyone any more. I'm desperately trying to get out of this room. I’m gonna be taking some time off." (People News)
