We Carey on partying

After the divine Mariah Carey invited us to her angel-themed party we can safely say we have seen heaven - and it rocks! The lavish bash at London club Jalouse on Thursday was to celebrate the launch of her fab new album, Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel.

And we were invited into Mariah's V-VIP area with Louis Walsh, Westlife, Kelly Brook, Geri Halliwell, Sir Philip Green, Pixie Lott and Lemar. Joking with us while sipping her own Angel branded champagne (it came in a deluxe ice bucket encrusted with 85,000 diamonds) Mariah giggled: "Mariah's on fire? No, you girls are on fire. Now let's dance."

Although her hubby Nick Cannon couldn't make it, Mariah, 40, wasn't short of dance partners. Rupert Everett and Kenny Goss were more than happy to whisk her around the floor. Also throwing some shapes and having a giddy time were funnymen Alan Carr and James Corden. Alan even serenaded Mariah with her song Obsessed. Then he unbuttoned his shirt. Talk about knowing how to impress the ladies - not!

Sadly, guest of honour Simon Cowell failed to materialise - he wanted to focus on his X Factor acts after losing Jamie Afro last weekend. No expense was spared for the bash. The room was dressed with white roses, gold balloons and - our favourite bit - a cashmere white carpet to dance on.

And there were buff, semi-clad waiters wearing angel wings and serving champagne and Hummingbird cupcakes. Earlier Mariah had showed up in a customised Rolls-Royce Phantom - she'd even sorted out her own facilities at the club. Yes, Jalouse had a lavish marble lav set aside, just for her. Well, even a pop queen needs her own throne.
