James Corden and Alan Carr knock back the champagne

She's world-famous diva who has won a clutch of awards and sang hit after hit. But even meeting an international star like Mariah Carey could not persuade British comedians Alan Carr and James Corden to be on their best behavior. Following her appearance at Westfield to turn on the London shopping centre's Christmas lights, the 40-year-old held an after party at exclusive club Jalouse to launch her latest album, Memoirs of a Fallen Angel.

And the two funnymen made the most of the glamorous surroundings and free-flowing champagne. Carr tore up the dance floor before serenading Miss Carey with her own song Obsessed. The 33-year-old Friday Night Project presenter then unbuttoned his shirt to the navel and affectionately squeezed fellow funnyman Corden. Ahead of the screening of his eagerly awaited second series of Gavin and Stacey, the 31-year-old was also letting off steam.

Speaking to The Sun he revealed: "I don't give a crap about meeting Mariah. I'm here for the ladies." And there was plenty of A-list eye-candy to try his luck with. Enjoying the festivities were Kelly Brook, Pixie Lott and Geri Halliwell. Meanwhile X-Factor judge Louis Walsh and choreographer Brian had a more sedate time.

Simon Cowell was also scheduled to attend but decided to dedicate his time to his remaining X-Factor contestants Olly Marrs and Danyl Johnson. Westlife, Lemar and Topshop mogul Sir Philip Green also made an appearance at the bubbly-fuelled bash.

While the crowd enjoyed the festivities with abandon, Miss Carey had an early start this morning with two trucks arriving at 8am to transport her mountain of luggage to Heathrow Airport. The diva checked out of the Dorchester at 9am to make her flight back to the United States and hopefully she will have had more luck being on time for that than she has with public appearances since arriving in London on Wednesday.

Phillip Schofield lashed out as Mariah was an hour late for her pre-recorded interview on This Morning earlier this week. Turning up at 12.45am, she also wasn't on time for her own party last night, an extraordinary episode which further delayed her departure to the Jalouse party by another hour.

Her management rang down to the concierge for bottles of the energy vitamin drink Gatorade to be delivered to her room. When the hotel could not provide, Miss Carey's chauffeur was sent out to find some. A tour of the local shops in Mayfair came back negative and a bizarre stand-off happened where Miss Carey refused to budge unless her Gatorade was delivered.

However, being a true diva she may have been late but made her entrance in style. Showing up in a £300,000 Rolls Royce Phantom customised with ice-white faux fur and pictures of herself across the site, no one failed to notice the star of the night had arrived.
