Mariah Carey: Detroit, January 25, 2010

For Mariah Carey fans, Detroit's Fox Theatre was the place to be Monday night. There, she performed one of the first shows of her "Angels Advocate" tour to a swooning, sold out crowd. The singer is definitely sitting pretty these days, both personally and professionally. Her new album, "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel", peaked at No. 3 on The Billboard 200 and topped Billboard's R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart after its August release.

Carey has also gained new respect as an actor after appearing in the feature film "Precious". In addition, she won her first People's Choice Award for "Favorite R&B Artist" earlier this month. Carey has also stepped up to help earthquake-ravaged Haiti. It was announced yesterday that she will be adding her voice to a star-studded cover of R.E.M.'s "Everybody Hurts" for Simon Cowell's forthcoming charity single.
