Mariah Carey puts out fire on stage herself
Now that's hot. Mariah Carey put out flames that sprouted under her feet right as she was about to take the stage Monday night, she Twittered. "In Egypt getting ready to go on stage and suddenly there was a surge of power and an electrical fire started under my feet! Wtf?!" wrote Carey, 40.
"Naturally, my emergency instincts kicked in and I put out the flames with a towel. Lol (yet true)," she wrote a few minutes later. "The funny thing about this is there is an old school radio station in the other room started playing "aww freak out! at that exact moment!" laughed Carey of the '70s hit, Le Freak by Chic.
Carey also called out her best pal Jasmine Dotiwala on Twitter. "Appalled you didn't tweet to see if I'm OK after the fire incident in Egypt! (Said in my diva theatrical accent.)"
The singer landed in the country on Sunday, she announced on Twitter: "Ugh... traveling since 1901 but I'm in Egypt now overlooking the Nile and I'm very happy to be here!" (Us Magazine)
