40-year-old Mariah pregnant with Nick's baby
Mariah Carey joins the list of stars having babies at an advanced age as RadarOnline confirms the rumors that started when Carey suddenly dropped out of her latest film - she and husband of 2 years Nick Cannon are expecting! While Carey had to give up what sounded like a plum role, alongside Janet Jackson and Whoopi Goldberg, a baby on the way is certainly a longer running gig than any movie, and way more rewarding. No word just yet about the due date. This will be hard delivery to hide, but I hope they can have the birth experience they want to. Maybe Carey can thrill homebirth advocates everywhere by choosing to have her child at home, like Rikki Lake.
Both in Hollywood and out, women are putting off having children until later in life, sometimes to their detriment as it can be harder to get pregnant after 35. Some experts even say that fertility may start to decrease in the late 20s, so waiting until the late 30s or even 40s may make the process much more complex, even requiring medical interventions to get pregnant. Of course, we can see from women like Halle Barry, Kelly Preston and now Mariah Carey that a healthy, happy pregnancy is possible even at a later age, so it’s worth waiting for Mr. Right when starting your family.
