Trend alert - cleavage is back

Congratulations Mariah Carey. Your signature cleavage is back in vogue again. Win for you! After almost a decade of hiding our lady lumps (unless dressing for the Oscars) the fashion world has started to go a little mad for mammaries and the latest Louis Vuitton campaign is a pedigree example.

Shot by Steven Meisel, the campaign features Christy Turlington, Karen Elson and Natalia Vodianova elegantly posed in a dressing room. Turlington's breasts are also a strategic starring attraction, hoisted up with a cinched waist and corset top, all with a fifties flavour.

The retro Mad Men style of dressing was also seen at Prada for Autumn Winter. Nipped in waists and scoop necklines emphasised the female form, while the peekaboo cleavage was a lot more subtle that at Vuitton. Other stars such as Daisy Lowe and Rachel Bilson have taken towards the demure yet buxom style.

So where does that leave us mere mortals? Bosoms are the new black I suppose. Hike them up, put a belt underneath and be sure to balance the style out with a long skirt that hides the leg. The look is voluptuous, womanly and confident; less Pamela Anderson and more Joan Holloway. Take good care of your décolletage and keep your makeup to a level your nanna would be happy with. You might need to work on that Mariah. We'll talk.
