Mariah Carey gets ready for Christmas in "Oh Santa!"
It's beginning to look and sound a lot like Christmas in Mariah Carey's world. The pop legend is on the verge of releasing her second Christmas album, Merry Christmas II You, an album that, much like its predecessor, will feature Carey belting it out to yuletide classics along with original material destined to become modern day classics.
In "Oh Santa!", the first single from the set, Mariah has only one wish and that's for Santa to bring her lover boy back. Against an up-tempo, almost doo-wop-inspired beat, Mariah sings her letter to the North Pole's most famous resident about getting her baby back from his new girl who is "so bleak".
It's hard to top Mariah's biggest Christmas hit, "All I Want For Christmas Is You", but MiMi does a good job of keeping the same fun and festive vibe on "Oh Santa!", and she definitely wasn't stingy with the vocal acrobatics. (Neon Limelight)
