If I was truly ignorant I would have jumped on the bandwagon about this Mariah-fur situation all the while planning what red or white meat I'm going to eat for dinner like I'm sure many of the people who are angry at her are going to do. It actually takes critical thinking to point out the many ways that most people on this earth are complicit in either the suffering or exploitation of animals instead of just acting like not wearing fur qualifies someone to be canonized into sainthood. Hell, most people can't even afford a real fur coat so it's not much of a protest if you having one isn't even an option to begin with. I would kindly ask the real vegans to stand up, because a lot of them would drag many lambs for only being part-time dedicated to the cause of animal rights, but justifying other things. In fact, why doesn't everyone who doesn't like fur being on MC's website (which she probably has no awareness of) share what they have had for breakfast, lunch and dinner over the past 5 days? I'm sure there's a carcass digesting in most of the people who are mad. This whole scenario reminds me of religious people who will be ready to burn down a city upon finding out that someone is gay, but will overlook their own "white lies", lust and fornication. I'm not trying to turn this into a PETA forum and am done with this topic, but as critical as I've been of MC in the past, I didn't feel like the level of these criticisms were even fair considering that most people don't even live up to the cause of animal rights that they're preaching about. I want my meat from skinned-alive cows (70,398) by Edward from USA Well, people have been eating meat for ages, but as time has progressed the methods in which these animal we eat are slaughtered have been more humane, again I say, humane. I'm pretty sure anybody who has a cat would be disgusted if its skin were ripped off of its body while the cat still suffering in pain. I don't remember the last cow that was skinned alive just so we could have meat that tastes juicier and better, I would be against it. These fur coats many people wear come from animals that oftentimes are skinned alive, some rabbits get they tail and sometimes legs cut off and left suffering, that's what I'm referring to, the cruelty. I had a cat that was sick with cancer and I had to put him to sleep, I didn't savagely smash its head against a wall, I did it the more humanely possible so that he would not suffer. So yes, we all have a responsibility here, and because many people have spoken, things are changing gradually. Those who want to wear their blood furry coats, good for them. It's about cruelty towards defenseless innocent animals who can't at least be put to dead quick and without pain. (Wednesday 28 December 2016; 23:19)

My opinion of what she is doing or who she is matters not one iota to her. I criticise her here because it is my avenue for doing so because I care so much. I think massively positive thoughts all the time. I have adored her all my life. In person, I rant about how awesome she is. Others post such rants on here but it isn't my role or in my interest to do so (much). I can take your attempts at getting thumbed-up from your little audience from the pedestal upon which your ignorant ass rests. But animals are vulnerable and somebody so globally [censored] famous and revered as Mariah Carey should not be extolling the virtues of barbarity. On a base level, we need animals to die, but fur-farming is barbaric and sick. You don't get to debate this. You just [censored] don't. You can no more debate this than debate with me the composition of the air that we breathe. There are moral certainties in life that are inalienable truths. Just as we have moved on to (trying) not to purchase eggs from battery-farm hens, so this practice, itself, is inhumane and disgusting. Society has moved, quite recently, into becoming more aware of the need to balance the availability of food with animal rights. We are, ourselves, in the food chain, and it is natural for us to eat them. The leather issue? Well, most leather is (hopefully) produced in humane ways. It's morality is debatable, but the process is, for the most part, humane. I may need to research this more, I can't claim to be the authority here. Certainly, I do not purchase leather, but, were I to, I would expect quality-of-life to exist, despite the animals' impending death. Fur-farms are the level at which all humanity is lost. They are the ISIS of dinner parties for animals. You cannot wear fur and claim to be a nice person. You cannot dismiss the issue lightly with a few taps of your keys and claim to be a nice person. You cannot advocate it and claim to be a nice person. Mariah Carey politics aside (for it is politics), something is very wrong with whomsoever cannot see this. Call me what you like, but this isn't about me, or my perceived hypocrisy. This is about who Mariah is. Does she know what is being posted there? It is important that she speaks instead of being "elusive", i.e., not giving a shit about what her fans think. The guy who owns this site has just threatened to pull it because of this. That's how ridiculous this is. I hope everyone is following Martyn's campaign. Your own campaign was well adhered to, but I would argue that Martyn's is significantly more important. Companies go to lengths to protect their brand. Incredible writ-laden lengths. Mariah, or Stella, or both, seem to be dumping upon hers from a great height. Let me finish with this (and move on): if Mariah pulls that website and replaces it with a massive apology and fires Stella then I will rejoice from the rooftops and sing her praises for showing that that twenty-something "innocence" still exists inside. Stella is now Ground Zero. As for Mariah, at her best, I find Mariah to represent all that is great about humanity. At her worst (the last couple of years) I find Mariah, as a person, morally questionable. I never ever thought of her as somebody who would use her name to advocates fur farms. The idea would have been anathema to me. "Angels' Advocate"? How about "Animals' Advocate"? They say they won't wear fur, they let PETA bully them into not wearing fur, and issuing PC statements against wearing it, etc. but they carry leather bags and other leather products, eat the furry little creatures, and everything else. You might as well just wear the damn fur then. I'd wear fur and don't care about anyone else's opinion on the matter. Over half of the celebrities who have posed for the "I'd rather go naked than wear fur" campaign still eat meat, have leather private jet seats and probably don't give a damn whether their makeup has been tested on animals or not. There is just so much hypocrisy when it comes to this issue that I don't think it's fair to start hate campaigns against people unless you are 100% committed to the cause yourself. Animal rights advocates, continue to spread awareness, but understand that it's going to be difficult to convince most of society that with all of the human rights issues we have today, that they should focus their energy on cows, chinchillas, rabbits, etc. Like it or not, there will always be that divide to a certain extent. Andrew, you have the nerve to go off on someone about animal rights when you talk about Mariah, a human being, like she's a cockroach almost daily? This is the hypocrisy that I'm talking about. I do think some folks up in here have no damn lives and love to bash Mariah on the daily because it makes their pathetic sorry lives have some type of purpose. Do I agree with everything Mariah does? Hell no. In the present I think Mariah is way out of bounce and when I see some of things she is doing it makes me cringe.
