#Beautiful is heading to a hot shot debut at No.1 (37,741)
by Andrew Lo from Philippines
| |
This is over the top. But chart experts say that with the direction the song is getting, the buzz and the following days will see Mariah's 19th. No. 1 as the song will possibly debut at No.1 as the song has had the same first-day radio performance of "Born This Way" of Lady Gaga. Some say that the song may have almost enough 50 million or more radio impressions by the end of the tracking week and it is already a sure thing that it will debut on the Top 20 on May 14. Watch out, watch out, watch out. It will be there, Top 20. Crossed fingers that the downloads will go crazy as soon as the video is released tomorrow. God allows, Mariah will have her 19th No.1.

Critical new era (37,682)
by Andrew Lo from Philippines
| |
As I could read through most of the write-ups regarding Mimi's new era, even to the smallest of detail like her Beautiful hashtag and the artwork, critics are all over Mimi. They are waiting for her smallest bit of failure and they will burn her. And I just wana cry at this moment because I am so helpless. I want her to succeed and bring music back to life. I wish and I really hope that her lead single will be an epic one that will swoo over the critics. Great music trumps all her disappointments lately. Yes, I am a big big fan, in fact, I breathe Mariah everyday of my life. And I am being honest towards her. AI is beneath her. And I am just waiting for her music to trump everything that was a let-down. I know we all say that she doesnt need to prove anything anymore, but if there's one thing that I can sense here - she is the one who wants to prove that she's not a has been yet. and with great music, she will silence all people.

2013 Era (37,654)
by Andrew Lo from Philippines
| |
She is on her third decade. And I do not want to brag, but being the bestselling artist of the 90s, and a top 11 best selling artist of the 2000s, she's the only living proof that if your music is solid quality, the world will not abandon you. She will not be the bestseller of this decade, but she will stay as the only-90s artist who has never faded her star. She has out-shone all her contemporaries who barely get heard, played or seen. I am just so proud of what she has become, a true legend. Here's my toast, cheers for a lifetime of epic music and a lifetime of stories of faith, love, dedication, failures and triumphs. You will always be our queen. You have touched our hearts in so many ways you have never imagined possible.

Great music (37,644)
by Andrew Lo from Philippines
| |
Mariah creates the kind of music that hits us deep when she takes the inspiration from pain, sorrow, misery. Not much with celebrating her success or happiness. But she's in a better place now and I hope all the pain she's had can become enough inspiration to draw music that the world will cry over again and again and celebrate life. I hope she delivers music that means something. I need that, as a fan and as a human. I am going through a lot in my life right now and her music is by far the only thing that holds me together. I hope she is well and I love her so much. Thank you for the music for 23 years.

Global reception to new era, Beautiful (37,635)
by Andrew Lo from Philippines
| |
I don't know how it happened, but across the globe, Mimi's new music is making a buzz. YouTube hits count stand at almost 2 million in barely 1.5 days of the release of the 26-second-teaser, which barely gave an idea of the song's melody. This was a teaser, not even a video teaser or song snippet. The whole world is going loco over Mimi. I guess Miguel provides some new flavour and people who like Miguel may even like MImi for Miguel's sake. I guess the world misses Mimi's new real music. Not just some movie sound-trackish song which was never promoted. [...] The queen is back. [...]

Beautiful : new era begins May 6 (37,624)
by Andrew Lo from Philippines
| |
Guys, MC's new era has arrived and beautiful it will be. It will be released May 6 and yeh, it will be a duet. Give it a shot guys. It will be magnificent I should say. I have not heard anything from the 26 second snippet or a commercial I must say. But in the next coming hours, you will hear about it. I cannot wait for it. New era is dawning upon us. Hail to the queen. I think this is the best formula. She should give it a year or two in between albums so that the public doesn't get tired of her. Remember 2005 TEOM and 2008 EMC2? This space gives people time to miss her. She should do this moving forward. She should carefully write epic songs and be grand. Well anything she does is queen-like. I praise her for never giving up on music. She's the queen.

Acceptance (37,448)
by Andrew Lo from Philippines
| |
Mariah is not a hit anymore. But that doesn't mean her legacy and legend will be forgotten. Maybe it's her decision, to live a comfortable simpler life than all the glitz and glamour. If she is hungry for more hits, she would have made an effort to doing so, but obviously she's not. She released 2 songs and never bothered promote them. I know she and her management won't give a rat's ass on whatever I say or you say for that matter. But still, truth be told, I am weary and I feel abandoned. I crave for great music from her but she underwhelms me. I know, my point doesn't and will not move the earth but atleast for me, it matters. Lyrically, Triumphant is outstanding. Maybe the way it was produced tanked, do away with rappers anymore. Almost Home was dumbing, the lyrics very elementary. There is no heart in it. Where is the great music that was once Mariah? Something to inspire the world. So many great artists today write music way better than her. But she's the best at it, I know and i dont need a number 1. But atleast, give us great music, something that will stand time and will quiet the hater. You're not doing yourself any favour. I love you as much as we all do, but you know that we loved you for your music, not for your other stuff around you. [...]

Worried about Mariah Carey (37,421)
by Andrew Lo from Philippines
| |
While I don't really want to entertain the idea of her being a flop, I must admit that worry is not even the word to describe it. I am concerned and alarmed about her music. I understand all the family drama and she wants to become a better mom and better wife and all the drama. But I hope she doesn't forget that she has her career that does not take off by its own self and plays itself on the radio or buys itself on iTunes. I hate feeling this way towards her because I have so much respect for her music. But she's just dropping these songs like bombs. And the worst, they don't explode. Doesn't she feel alarmed that she could not even break into the Hot 100? She is Mariah Carey. It's either her songs are shitty or she's just too damn tired to even care about her fans going loco over her flop songs. I know, she has got nothing to prove anymore, given that, so why would she even release 2 songs? So she releases songs and would not care if they flop or drop like eggs? She doesn't realise that people make fun of her entire career because her latest songs bombed and let's face it - awkwardly dumbing. This started from Obssessed. And all went downhill. I have high respect for her and I am truly a lamb by heart, and that is why I am concerned. Alarmed. If she is tired, then stop releasing music. It may be better. Just come back when you feel like you have the right material that the world will bring their respect back to your music. I am frustrated. And heart-broken.

Mariah World Music Awards (37,394)
by Andrew Lo from Philippines
| |
I am very bothered. Since when did the World Music Awards become about fans voting? It has to be very certain that it should be based on sales alone. Otherwise, it's AMA-wannabe. Arggg, MC is nominated for 5 awards and she's against all possible names all over the world. That sounds creepy. Hahaha what a joke. Hahaha, I am irritated.

Mariah and Beyonce and Rihanna (37,336)
by Andrew Lo from Philippines
| |
I just want to express my concern or should I say I should be concerned the same way all lambs should be. Bey and Rihanna have almost 43 million likes on Facebook, while Mimi has barely reached 10 million. Is this something we should be concerned about? Just a thought. Are Bey and Rihanna bigger than Mimi? Is it a current thing? But Bey has not had a number 1 since 2009. Rihanna has amassed 12 No. 1s from 2006-2012. Rihanna is big at the moment, but can she sell 200 million records in the next 10 years and have another 7 no.1s to be the artist with most no.1 in the history of recorded music? I am just thinking. I have nothing against Bey and Riri. Just thinking.

Yehey (37,328)
by Andrew Lo from Philippines

For an artist on her 23rd year, it is somewhat splendid to see Mimi on the charts again, when the likes of Rihanna has 2 songs on the charts. Mimi has disproved the saying of "have beens". You cannot see Celine or Barbra chart with their songs. But with Mariah, it's just amazing. But I kind of feel sad because the song has only been downloaded 18,000 times. Does she have 18,000 lambs only? I am really sad, because even the lambs don't download it. And yes, she should sing that live on Idol, perhaps next week on the day the movie goes out along with the video. Such a historic week next week. March 8 is a Friday. I can't wait.

Mariah Carey Almost Home (37,310)
by Andrew Lo from Philippines
| |
I could not agree more. It's Mimi's job to release good material. In fairness to Rihanna and Katy Perry, I don't get the wow factor with their bubble-gum songs, but I have come to like some of their materials. But when it comes to Mimi, we always expect something great, so hard to be Mimi, because she is D-standard. What is really wrong in the equation? Why would she release a song on February 19 and never would even she promote it elsewhere? Is she tired? Then why would she even bother releasing a song in the first place? She should go out and make people know about her song. Just go out and sing it live. Don't expect people to guess "Oh mariah has a new song". She's 43 and most probably her fans would be at the same age I would guess, so amidst all their busy lives with their families, their children, their crappy marriages or whatever, they deserve something from Mariah. I want to see her on TV. She is not Rihanna, 31 or something, who has all the energy in the world to come to Victoria's Secret and sing Diamonds and go to X Factor UK and get wet seeing diamonds, but atleast do a little bit of promotion. She needs it. Badly. I can't wait for March 8, the release date of her video and again, the live shows on Idol. She cannot not sing that there, otherwise, why would she even be there? Almost Home is an amazing pop song. It's a big song. I am very objective, I like it because it's amazing, not because it's Mariah's song. Others will too, just do something about it.

Almost Home (37,291)
by Andrew Lo from Philippines

I am listening to it every single second hahaha. I can't stop. Too bad it's not even on radio (Philippines). It was released here over iTunes and it went no.1 on its first day. But that is zero airplay. Guess we Filipinos love her all the way. I can't understand why lambs aint buying the single. Where are the millions following her on tweeter and facebook fans? I don't really get it.

Almost Home current chart standings (37,279)
by Andrew Lo from Philippines
| |
I don't seem to hear or feel any sign of the song's chart standings. Can any one of you post the current standings? Will it appear on any of Billboard charts, Hot 100 too premature, maybe on other charts, Pop Songs? Radio Songs? AC? R&B? How about on the radio? Have you been hearing it? I guess it lacks promotions, do you agree? Come on, you don't expect people to know about it unless you promote it. Has Mimi been promoting the song perhaps or she will wait until March 8 to release the video and then promote it? She may be Mariah, but still people need to know she has a song out. Right? How about other countries, how is the song faring? Please let us know. We can only pray and hope for the best, but should we not be downloading too? We should buy it if its amazing, and I am never gonna deny the fact that this song is amazing. Who knows, Stronger by Kelly Clarkson will even win a Grammy haha. That song was a hit for me, but it is not even close to Almost Home. I really would appreciate if I hear some news about its standings currently.

Almost Home (37,278)
by Andrew Lo from Philippines
| |
Maybe its only me, but I am addicted to the song. I can't see it over the music channels here, because there aint no music video, so I have to be content with the downloaded song itself. But seriously, I think whatever others may say about how dumbing the lyrics are because they seem to be shallow, but for me, the entire song, its production, its vibe, its feel especially when you view it with all the Oz's clips, it gives me the chills. It's amazing, because queen Mimi co-wrote it, co-produced it. It may not be a Mariah classic, but do we really need to keep praying for a Mariah classic every song she comes out with? Come on. No artist is able to do dat. This is an amazing song and you can really really feel it is radio friendly and the video clip I saw from GMA was just hair-raising. I adore her and respect her and she has been my idol since I was 12 and I am freaking 27 right at this very moment. I have high respect for her and I am just keeping it real, loving her songs, not liking some of them, but that's how it should be. This song is being played on my phone and PC for the longest time allowable in a day. Lol. I am feeling it. I am feeling it. I am feeling it. Loving it, loving it. It is amazing. It has a Rihanna vibe? The beats may be, but the voice? No way. Do you agree with me? This song is a feel-good pop song you can hear from your radio over and over again.
